Ok I tried some of the other WordPress.com themes for this OHYIDI blog, and I didn’t like any of them enough to stick with them… at least not for now. So I changed back to the Colinear blog. I may try some more themes again at some point down the road when I have more time for testing.

OHYIDI 021 WordPressdotcom Needs Better New Themes
I’m not griping (I might be lol) but WordPress.com needs to get a handle on their theme options. I’m trying to set up another website (this one – OHYIDI) among the many others I own, and I’m just not liking any of the themes they offer. The majority of the new block themes offered do not make an actual blog. These are splash page junk. That’s why I learned how to turn the Twenty Twenty Three theme into an actual blog layout, and often go back to the Colinear theme when setting up a new site. Colinear is still an amazing theme after many years, but it can be janky when trying to use the new Gutenburg blocks for widgets. Yeah I know I could spend $300 and go find a template at WordPress.org to upload that might work better for blogging… but I also know WordPress.com has the capacity and room on their network to go over there themselves and pick out some better free themes for use. Ok rant over. P.S. Don’t even dare try using the Minecraft theme WordPress.com has on offer as a free theme, unless you are 8 years old and not a serious blogger. I tried it just for fun, and found it to be a headache when trying to write out this post.

I’m going to be testing new blog themes over the next few days or a couple of weeks. I love the Colinear blog theme for simple blogs like OHYIDI, but that theme is getting outdated a little bit, and I don’t like that it doesn’t have pagination links for the blog. It just infinite scrolls which is super annoying. So expect that things may look strange from time to time as I am testing and learning how to work with a new site theme.
